First of all thank you for choosing Vortex as your sorce of entertainment. In this guide ill do my best to get you started on your journey to greatness.
After creating a new account, you will be greeted by Saradomin, the guardian of Vortex, who is found in many events around the world. He will show you around via a small cut-scene based tutorial, which it is advised to pay attention to, as it gives some quite useful information (note: you can replay the tutorial by talking to Saradomin again).
You can also talk to Saradomin to have him teleport you to the Lumbridge combat academy, to start a combat tutorial; this is suggested for players who are unfamiliar with the EoC combat system.
Gameplay modes, Experience & Drop Rates. Easy = x320 exp & x1 drop rate
Intermediate = x80 exp & x2 drop rate
Veteran = x20 exp & x3 drop rate
Expert = x10 exp & x6 drop rate
IronMan = x10 exp & x6.0 drop rate
After you decide what game mode you want to play (note: you can change game modes to a higher one at any time by talking to Saradomin at ;;home but this does come with an exp penalty cost. example: Easy to Expert with 200m exp in each skill would be 200m/32 * .75 = 4.6m =lvl 88 after switch ) The next thing you will probably want to know is how do I navigate around the World of Vortex. Luckily for you almost everything you will need is located on the floating bookcases at home.
The First option is Stores & Actions
NOTE: Grab your daily rewards, they reset every day at the same time that YOU originally grabbed them. The Second option is Teleports
The Third option is Previous action. As it says it will repeat the previous action you did on the bookcase.
Last but certianly not least is the Current Event Teleport
This will teleport you to the current event that has been announce in global chat.
The Boss events Teleports you right outside the current boss and you can enter the room without needed the normal killcount needed. Also the drop rate for that boss is Doubled for the time of the event and you can stay for as long as you please.
There is also a mining event that is recommended to do and pretty simple. You need to collect and equal amount of colored ores and turn them into Saradomin to gain a nice exp drop.
The Grand Exchange and all its Glory.
Nearly everything can be found on the grand exchange. Herbs and secondaries, up to tier 60 armor and weapons, runes for magic and so on. If it says UNLIMITED in the quantity then raise the buy price by 5% and the amount you want to buy and you are set. Its also a great place to sell your loot.
Beginning CASH!
Some of the best beginning cash would be from thieving. There is a great location at home to start making some GP to get you started and a general shop right there to sell it to.
Also if thieving isn't exactly what you are looking for. Nearly every skill in the game has the chance to spawn an NPC that will give you a RANDOM amount of GP, These npc's can also give you outfit pieces for that skill.
Also you can do revs from the rev cave and they are a good beginning money maker for those that rather go the pvm route.
SLAYER & SLAYER MASTER TELEPORTS
You can access slayer master teleports from the first option on the bookshelf. The option will be on the right side of the page. SOME tasks you will need to use the slayer masters TELEPORT to task option as they are unreachable any other way. Also the max guild if you have access to it will also help with getting to certian tasks.
REVOLUTION COMBAT
If you would like to go full revo at any point in time go to the floating bookcases click Stores & actions, then on the RIGHT side you will find Actionbar Options. Click on this, Go to option 4 (Revolution Settings) and now you are presented with how you would like revolution to work. Option 1. Basic abilities only
Option 2. Basic + Threshold Abilities
Option 3. All types, Meaning basic, thresholds, and Ultimates.
Option 4. You can set how many slots your revolution bar will trigger.
SWITCHING PRAYER AND MAGIC BOOKS
The alter is all you will need for these.
I Highly recommend before you are serious about bossing to get yourself a set of Zammy or Saradomin warpriest armor as it gives the chance to HIGHLY decrease the amount of damage done to you. These armors are dropped outside of the respected boss's rooms from the minions. Getting the full set does take a little bit of time but it isnt horrible with some decent prayers to RNGsus.
